Miss Duffus enjoys her 100th birthday. Saturday was a wonderful day for Miss Jeannie Duffus. It was her 100th birthday and friends and relatives gathered to congratulate her.
Miss Duffus who lived at 2 Gowrie Place, Hawkhill until a year ago, is now in Cidhmore, the Salvation Army Even- tide Home on Perth Road.
The staff of the Home rallied round to give Miss Duffus a party to remember. All she could say was "I usually like everything quiet, but I did enjoy it."
Miss Duffus who is still able to read without glasses, was up at usual at 9 a.m. to be overwhelmed by a host of gifts, flowers, cards, including best wishes form her sister Johanna Duffus Short in Bexhill on Sea, who is 104. She also received a congratulatory telegram from the Queen. This wonderful lady is really proud of her age and throughout the party she insisted on repeating "I am 100 years old now, really 100."
